You played Elizabeth in the TV-miniseries The Pillars of the Earth - how did you land this role?

I was very, very lucky. I was in the middle of my art A level at school and at this point I had only had interest from my Agents...so they sent me to the audition, it was my first ever audition. I got my extra acting teacher at school to help me prepare and then a few weeks later got the call.

It had a pretty star-studded cast what was it like working with the likes of RUFUS SEWELL and IAN MCSHANE?

You can’t really complain can you? I was 18 at the time, so I didn’t really realise how huge any of the cast were until I arrived on set and saw their faces!

You also worked alongside the gorgeous EDDIE REDMAYNE who, not long after, went on to play Marius in Les Mis, gaining him huge amounts of recognition. What was it like seeing a former co-star go onto achieve this kind of success?

I think we all knew it was going to happen to both him and Hayley Atwell, they are both such incredible actors whom I aspire to.

Are you still in touch with any of them? Please tell me you’ve got Eddie’s number...

Nah I don't have eddie's number, but a few of us are still in contact and we all went to dinner in LA when I was there a while ago, it's nice when that happens after a job.

In fact I think Eddie drove me home, what a gentleman!

SKYE LOURIE's definitely one to watch out for. Yes  she's stunningly beautiful; but if talent's anything to go by then she's well on her way to success.  Having spent her fair share of time in front of the screen, including Chase and Status music video 'Time', she's also graced the stage in theatrical productions...most recently in London's Hampstead Theatre.

What’s the craziest thing that’s happened to you since entering the acting world?

Hmmmm, probably prancing around naked for an audition but not really having any fear from doing it… perhaps I should be a naturist?

If you weren’t acting right now; what do you reckon you’d be doing?

Probably be making jam and tending to the farm (where my parents live) in Italy. Honestly though? I can’t really Imagine myself doing anything else.

And, if it’s not top secret, what are you working on right now...and what can we be expecting from you in the near future?

Maybe have a wee film in the pipe line, am filming a short film next week, there is also talk of going up north for a few months for a play.

All I want to do is theatre though, so that’s what to expect, because that is my aim.

I LOVE...

cheese fondue and Ryanair

I HATE...

a lack of appreciation when you know you have worked your ass off

So SKYE how exactly did you first get into acting...and what made you want to pursue it as a career?

When I was 13, and had to perform a Lady Macbeth speech in front of my entire school, which was my audition speech for Arts Ed (Arts Educational - performing arts school)...I think if you are tackling Macbeth at that age then it probably makes sense to carry on.

Is there anyone in particular that you look up to?

There are many, many people I look up to, this list could go on forever...

What about if you could star alongside any actor, dead or alive..?

Again, I have a list, I hate this question, because I always see films or TV dramas and go

“man, I want to work with them”

but when someone asks me, my head just goes blank! I was watching the Jonathan Creek Special Easter episode last night and love the way Joanna Lumley is so effortlessly good, but also a comical genius, yes I would love to work with her.

Where do you see yourself in both 5 and 10 years time?

On stage!

What about the silver screen...? Would you choose theatre over movies?

At the moment it will always be theatre over film, but I'm sure when I am sick of living off moulding cheese and no heating, then movies will become more appealing!

And if you were offered the leading role in a block-buster movie...don’t tell me you’d turn that down...

If it was at a theatre I have always wanted to work at and a role that i knew I was meant to play, then I would have to think about it yes. Anyway, one can only dream of being in that position...

Something you want to say...? Leave a message here:

Her first big movie, 'The Holding' may not have gone onto win any real recognition but it sure does show exactly what's she's capable of.  Skye's shared sets with some very famous faces indeed and even though she's as busy as ever she very kindly spared a few moments to have a wee chat...
